Queues help teams manage the distribution of projects and tasks. Queues can be empty, such as the TaskRay Unassigned queue, perfect for tasks contained in templates and not yet ready for owner assignment. Queues can also contain groups of users, such as a Customer Success or a Support queue, where members of the queue can view tasks available for assignment. Additionally, queues can be added as Team Members on projects, as well as assigned to tasks, which will then display their icons in the Team tab of the right sidebar.
For example, if you know that the project will need a team member from the marketing team but don't know who the specific user will be, you can set up a Marketing queue and add it to the team for the time being.
TaskRay comes with a default TaskRay Unassigned queue. It is possible to create additional queues for use in TaskRay.
- From Setup, navigate to:
- Lightning: Users | Queues.
- Classic: Manage Users | Queues.
- Click New.
- Label the queue.
- Optional: Add Queue Email.
Note: If an email is provided, that email address will receive owner assignment notifications. "Send Email to Members" option is not supported at this time.
- From Available Objects, select TaskRay Project and TaskRay Task and move them to Selected Objects.
Important! Both objects (TaskRay Project and TaskRay Task) must be selected.
- Optional: Add Queue Members.
- Click Save.
