Has a TaskRay Project or Task disappeared? There could be several causes for this, but here are some tips that could help you find your disappeared project or task.
1. Select the Project in TaskRay
In general, TaskRay will display only the tasks that are within projects that have been selected in the left project sidebar. So, be sure to select the project that includes the task that you are missing.
2. Check Your Board Filters
The TaskRay Task might be hidden due to a Task Filter being applied.
3. Unhide Status List Columns
It is possible that a Status List column is hidden, thus hiding all of the tasks within that column. Here's more on Status List Columns (and how to hide/unhide them) in TaskRay.
4. Search for Project or Task
You can try searching for the project or task in TaskRay.
- Search for Projects
- Search for Tasks
Tip: When searching for Tasks, you can first click Select All from the left project sidebar to widen the search across all projects.
5. Check if the Project or Task is Archived
When a TaskRay Project or Task is archived, it disappears from the TaskRay view. However, it can still be viewed under the Archived board filter. For more information on archiving and unarchiving, see:
In addition, you can find an archived TaskRay Project or Task by simply searching for it via the global Salesforce search bar at the top.
It is also possible to create a List View to easily see all archived Tasks or Projects.
To do that, go to the TaskRay Projects or TaskRay Tasks tab (in Classic, if you don't have that tab it can be added by clicking the + button in the tab ribbon and clicking Customize My Tabs; in Lightning, you can find this tab in the App Launcher). Once there, create a List View with a filter to display only TaskRay Projects or TaskRay Tasks where the Archived field equals True. A list of all Archived Projects and Tasks will then be displayed, allowing you to edit and unarchive where needed.
6. The Task Could be "Hidden Until..."
Within TaskRay, it's possible to hide tasks so that they only display when you need them (Hide Tasks section at the bottom of the article).
To find hidden, future-dated tasks, you can search for them via the Salesforce global search at the top or create a List View to show all hidden tasks.
7. The Project Could be Marked a "Template"
If your project has the Template checkbox checked, it will automatically move to the "Template" board filter and will no longer appear in the other board filters, such as My Projects. If you find your missing project under Templates, then you can turn it back into a regular project by unchecking the Template checkbox in the Project Details. You can read more about templates here.
8. Check if the Project or Task has been Deleted
If you still can't find your project or task, then it is possible that it could have been deleted.
When records are deleted from Salesforce, they first go to the Salesforce Recycle Bin. Records in the Recycle Bin can be recovered for a limited time. Here's how to recover deleted records from the Salesforce Recycle Bin.
