TaskRay allows you to make time entries to better track against your billable or non-billable hours. You can also set the default value for your entire org, or for individual tasks, to make time entries be either billable or non-billable.
For Standard Edition customers, this prescribes the default Billable value on time entries whenever users log time against a task. For Premium Edition customers, this also allows delineating between billable and non-billable types of work for capacity planning.
Set Default For Billable Time Entries for the Org [Admin]
- From Setup, navigate to
- Lightning: Custom Code | Custom Settings.
- Classic: Develop | Custom Settings.
- Click Manage next to TaskRay Global Settings.
- Check the Mark Time Entries Billable By Default checkbox.
- Click Save.
Set the Default for Billable Time Entries for Individual Tasks
Tasks can be set to have default billable or non-billable time type, either in a template, or in an active project.
To set Default Time Type at the template level, navigate to the Template Hub. This can be set when creating or updating a template, by populating the 'Default Time Type' picklist on tasks as desired.
To set the Default Time Type for tasks within projects, an admin must add the Default Time Type field on the page layout or fieldset on the TaskRay Task object. Then, navigate to the task modal in the TaskRay app, set the 'Default Time Type' value, and save.
Use The Time Entry Field
Once you have updated the default value, you will see it reflected each time new time entries are made. Remember that this default setting will apply across the entire organization, but users are able to change the value upon creating new time entries.
