Uninstall TaskRay

If you need to uninstall TaskRay, it is necessary to remove all permission set assignments and cancel the scheduled Apex Job used to generate the Daily Planner Emails prior to performing the uninstall.

 

Important: the admin performing the uninstall will need to have a TaskRay license assigned in order to successfully uninstall the application.

 

Remove Permission Sets [Admin]

  1. From Setup, navigate to:
    • Lightning: Users | Permission Sets.
    • Classic: Manage Users | Permission Sets.
  2. Click on TaskRay - Standard Access.
  3. Click on Manage Assignments.
  4. Using the checkboxes, select the users from which you want to remove the permission set.
  5. Click Remove Assignments.
  6. In the confirmation dialog, click OK to confirm.

Repeat this process for any additional TaskRay Permission Sets that you may have.

 

Cancel the TaskRay Daily Planner Emails [Admin]

  1. From Setup, navigate to Jobs | Scheduled Jobs.
  2. Click Del next to TaskRay Daily Notifications.
  3. Click OK to confirm.

 

Uninstall TaskRay [Admin]

WARNING: Please note that while salesforce.com will automatically generate an export file of your data, you may lose critical Chatter Feed associated to projects and tasks. The data export file is only available for 48 hours. If you choose to reserve this file and re-import into TaskRay at a later date, you will need to recreate relationships. Never use uninstall to upgrade to a new version of TaskRay!
  1. From Setup, navigate to:
    • Lightning: App | Installed Packages.
    • Classic: Build | Installed Packages.
  2. Click Uninstall next to TaskRay. 
  3. Scroll all the way down and select the Yes, I want to uninstall this package and permanently delete all associated components checkbox.
  4. Click Uninstall.

 

Other [Admin]

It is possible that there might be other org-specific dependencies that might prevent the uninstall from happening. For example, if TaskRay Objects or Fields are referenced in any automations or customizations in the org, Salesforce will require modifying those to remove references in order to successfully uninstall the package. For this purpose, you will see a list of such dependencies whenever you attempt to uninstall the package. Using that list as a guide, all the dependencies will need to be removed and resolved in order to uninstall.

 

Note: If you are not able to perform the uninstall of the app due to Custom Metadata Type records, you will need to delete those and then try to uninstall again. Follow the steps below to review Custom Metadata Type records.
  1. From Setup, navigate to Custom Code | Custom Metadata Types.
  2. Locate TaskRay List Setting and click on Manage Records. 
  3. Within the list, click on Del next to each one of the records to delete them.
  4. In the confirmation screen for each, click on OK to confirm.
  5. Once all the TaskRay List Setting records are deleted, try to uninstall TaskRay again.
