Add Custom Fields to Projects and Tasks

This feature is available to the following product editions
  • Starter
  • Standard
  • Premium

The fields on the TaskRay Project, Task Group, and Task objects can be customized, added, or removed. You can also select which fields are displayed on the Project, Task Group, or Task Details (layouts) in TaskRay.

 

Create Custom Fields for TaskRay [Admin]

You can add custom fields to TaskRay Project, Task Group, and Task objects, which will then be displayed in the standard Salesforce interface and in the Details modals in TaskRay. These fields can then be used for reporting and other purposes, as needed.

  1. From Setup, navigate to:
    • Lightning: Objects and Fields | Object Manager
    • Classic: Create | Objects
  1. Open the TaskRay Project, TaskRay Task Group, or TaskRay Task object.
  2. Under Fields and Relationships, click on New.
  3. Follow the steps to create a new field.

Add/Edit Project, Task Group, or Task Fields - Page Layouts [Admin]

Once all the necessary fields are added to the objects, the next step is to update the page layouts on the objects to define how the fields should be organized and presented to the users. For this purpose, it is necessary to modify the page layouts for the objects.

  1. From Setup, navigate to:
    • Lightning: Objects and Fields | Object Manager
    • Classic: Create | Objects
  2. Select TaskRay Project, TaskRay Task Group, or TaskRay Task.
  3. Navigate to the Page Layouts section and select the applicable page layout.
  4. Add, modify, or remove the desired fields.
  5. Click Save.
