[July 2023] Sandbox Testing Tips

New Feature Alert! This feature are part of the July 2023 Release and will be available in Sandboxes and on the AppExchange on July 11. Existing customers' production instances will be automatically upgraded to the version of TaskRay containing these features on July 25.

About the Release

All sandboxes with TaskRay installed have been upgraded to the latest release as of July 11. Production instances will be upgraded on July 25. Now is a great time to test the new release against your customizations in sandbox!

Testing

Key items to test during this time include:

  • We have introduced a new feature that allows you to view all task record types on the Kanban board, when the record types share the same list statuses and order. 
    • If you are using Task Record Types: 
      • Verify that the each value of the task record type selector works as expected, and that the correct Kanban columns appear in the right order. 
      • Add a new task from the Kanban board and verify that the new  task has the appropriate record type. 
      • Verify that the 'All' option appears (if your record type configuration meets the criteria) and works as expected.
      • We made a change to Checklist Group ownership to streamline Template cloning operations.
  • If you are utilizing Checklist Groups in Templates or in Projects:
    • Create a new Checklist Group on a Template in Template Builder, or in any main app view you use to manage Project. Verify that it appears as you expect. 
      • Clone (or Stitch) the Template with the new Checklist Group and verify that the clone operation completes as you expect. 
    • Edit an existing Checklist Group, on a Template, or Project and verify that the operation is as expected.

  • We have updated the Project Kickoff Flow to include the new Dynamic Team Builder. 
    • If you are using the Kickoff Flow:
      • Run through the wizard experience and verify that the Project is created as you expect. Specifically test any assignment operations you usually take in the Team Builder screen.
