[October 2023] Sandbox Testing Tips

New Feature Alert! This feature are part of the October 2023 Release and will be available in Sandboxes and on the AppExchange on October 17. Existing customers' production instances will be automatically upgraded to the version of TaskRay containing these features on October 31.

 

The October 2023 release is here!

About the Release

All sandboxes with TaskRay installed have been upgraded to the latest release as of October 17. Production instances will be upgraded on October 31. Now is a great time to test the new release against your customizations in sandbox!

 

Testing

Key items to test during this time include:

  • We have introduced a new features that allows to you to create Resource Attributes to track unique skill sets and characteristics about your Resources.  
    • If you are utilizing Configuration Hub:
      • The following standard permission sets that grant access to the Config Hub:
        • TaskRay - Resource Manager Access
        • TaskRay - TaskRay Admin Access
      • Verify all designated Config Hub users (via one of the above permission sets) can view and take action on items.
        • Standard & Premium Editions
          • Create and assign Roles to Resources
        • Premium Edition Only
          • Create Attribute Types, Attributes, and assign them to Roles and Resources
    • If you are utilizing the Dynamic Team Builder:
      • All Editions
        • Verify that users can search for users and reassign work from the returned search
      • Standard & Premium Edition
        • Verify that users can search for Roles and reassign work from the returned search
      • Premium Edition Only
        • Verify that users can search for Attributes and reassign work from the returned search
  • We updated how we load and maintain data in Template Hub
    • If you are utilizing Template Hub:
      • The following standard permission sets that grant access to the Template Hub:
        • TaskRay - Project Manager Access
        • TaskRay - Template Manager Access
        • TaskRay - TaskRay Admin Access
      • Verify all designated Template Hub users (via one of the above permission sets) can view and take action on items.
        • All Editions 
          • View Templates
          • Create Template Versions
          • Modify Templates
            • Add new Task Groups, Tasks, and Checklist Items
            • Modify existing Task Groups, Tasks, and Checklist Items
            • Assign/reassign work to other Roles/Resources
            • Schedule/reschedule work
              • Using the Schedule Step
                • Independently
                • Using dependencies
            • Activate a template version
