This article provides a clear definition of Forecast Utilization and how it is applied in Flux Capacity.

Forecast Utilization Definition

Forecast Utilization is defined by Flux Capacity to be a measure of predicted productivity, comparing capacity (adjusted to account for time away) to estimated workload.

The Flux Forecast dashboard’s source reports are based on the Flux Utilization object which is a real-time daily summary of:

  1. Estimated hours of work assigned (via TaskRay Tasks distributed across Flux Schedules)
  2. Daily utilization targets (via Flux Resource)
  3. Capacity deductions (via Flux Time Away)

A collection of Flux Utilization records, make up the Flux Forecast dashboard.
