This article covers legacy Flux Capacity functionality.
  • If you are in the beginning stages of setting up resource management functionality in your org, or if you are already using TaskRay Resource Management features, refer to the new Resource Management documentation.
  • If your organization currently uses Flux Capacity for resource management, use this article if you need to get information on Flux functionality.
If you have any questions, reach out to TaskRay Support.

This article helps a Salesforce System Administrator and Flux Admin who wish to rename an existing, active Flux Team.

Step 1: Rename Flux Team

  • Before you can edit the Flux Team Name field, your Salesforce Admin must first temporarily disable the Flux_Team_Name_cannot_be_changed validation rule on the Flux Team object.

  • Navigate to the Flux Team tab
  • Click to open the Flux Team you wish to rename
  • Edit the Flux Team Name as shown in the example below, then click Save.

  • Once you’ve saved the Flux Team Name change, we recommend your Salesforce Admin re-activate the Flux_Team_Name_cannot_be_changed validation rule on the Flux Team object.

Step 2: Rename Salesforce Queue

Your Salesforce Admin should next edit the label for the Salesforce Queue associated with the renamed team.

Step 3: Rename Flux Resource Queue

  • Navigate to the Flux Resource tab
  • Click to open the Flux Resource Queue associated with the team you renamed (ex. in the screenshot below, we are going to rename the Trainer resource queue to Change Management)
  • Edit the Flux Resource Name

  • Click Save

Step 4: Rename Flux Team Member Records

For the renamed Flux Team, you’ll need to go through each Flux Resource that has an active Team Member and edit the corresponding Flux Team Member record.

  • Navigate to the Flux Team tab
  • Click to open the Flux Team you renamed
  • You will see a list of all Flux Resources with an associated Team Membership. You’ll only need to worry about those with an Active team member (see example below of 2 Resources with old Team name).

  • Click the hyperlink to open the Flux Team Member record
  • Edit the Flux Team Member Name by replacing the old team name between the parentheses.

  • Click Save.
  • Repeat the above steps for all Flux Resources with an active Team Member for the renamed Flux Team.

Step 5: Update Dashboards

Edit any Flux Team filters present on your dashboards by editing the value that references the renamed Flux Team. Be sure to edit BOTH the Value and the Display Text as shown below.

Considerations

After following the steps above, the Flux Utilization records associated with the renamed Flux Team will still display the old Flux Team Name in the Flux Utilization Name field (as shown here).

This will not impact app functionality or out-of-the-box reporting. However, if you’ve built any custom reports or automation that filter on the Flux Utilization Name field, you may wish to have your Salesforce Admin run a batch data job to update those Flux Utilization records with a new Name value.
