Modify Project Status Values and Colors

This feature is available to the following product editions: 
  • Starter
  • Standard
  • Premium

TaskRay allows users to set the status on their projects. This article will go over all of the ways that this feature can be customized, such as through modifying the provided Status values (label and color), adding new ones, and removing the ones that are not needed.

 

Customize Project Status Values [Admin]

If the provided status values do not suit the needs of your organization, it is possible to modify them, as well as add new ones. Follow the steps below to do so.

  1. From Setup, navigate to
    • Lightning: Objects and Fields | Object Manager.
    • Classic: Create | Objects.
  2. Select TaskRay Project.
  3. In the Custom Fields & Relationships section, click on Status.

 

Add New Status Values

When adding a new Status value, you will need to define its label (e.g. "Green") and the color that you would like to associate with the value.

  1. In the Values section, click New.
  2. On the Status page, enter the name(s) of the status(es) that you want to add. Enter each name on a separate line.
  3. Click Save.
  4. You will be taken back to the Status field settings page. Scroll down to the Values section and click Edit next to the new value that you added.

  5. The color of the Status value is determined by the value's API name. To set a color, you will need to enter a 6-digit HEX code in the API Name field.

    Tip: You can use this site for reference to get HEX code values.
  6. Click Save.

Remove Status Values

  1. In the Values section, click Del next to the status that you want to delete.
  2. Click OK in the confirmation dialog.
  3. You will be asked what you want to do with records that are associated with that status field (i.e. projects that have that status assigned in Taskray). Using the Replace value on records with dropdown, select a new status that you want to assign the projects to.

 

Customize Existing Values

If you would like to customize any of the existing Status values, follow the instructions below. When customizing the values, you can change the value (e.g. "Green" to "Low Risk") and you can change the color that the value is associated with.

  1. In the Values section and click Edit next to the value that you want to customize.
  2. The text displayed for the Status is determined by the value's Label.
  3. The color of the Status value is determined by the value's API name. To change the color, you will need to enter a 6-digit HEX code in the API Name field.

    Tip: You can use this site for reference to get HEX code values.
  4. Click Save.
